Grief is always the death of something, including someone we love. But it also includes divorce, miscarriage, pet loss, job loss, or the death of a dream. Grief and trauma can paralyze us, obscure our hope and wreak havoc in our lives. This course is for anyone who yearns for hope, is weary and in need of soul restoration, is searching for a renewed sense of purpose, or is stuck and can't find a way forward.
This course is also for anyone looking for tools to help support others on their grief journey. Together, we can make a difference for those in their darkest days, we can shine a light and point the way towards hope and healing.
You know the heartbreak of loss. You've experienced pain and grief because of the death of someone or something.
The Grief Educator Certification Training is for you if you're looking for tools to help heal your broken heart and coach others on their grief journey. You're in the right place if you are a counselor, therapist, administrator, teacher, school personnel, student, parent, coach, celebrant, pastor, clergy member or church staff, social worker, health care or mental health professional, hospice worker, first responder, law enforcement officer, or any other kind of helping professional. Basically, this grief education and training is for everyone that has experienced loss and wants to grow and help others grow.

The course includes 10 live Zoom teaching sessions (modules) with Dr. Dave covering 10 different topics about grief, along with live interviews with Kay Warren, Cheryl Baker, Terra Pickett and Pam Vetter.
In addition to The Grief Course (10 weekly Zoom calls), the Certification Training includes 10 weekly live Zoom labs with Dr. Dave so you can dive deeper into the weekly training, ask questions, and support one another.
The 10 live Zoom teaching sessions are each Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 pm (PST). The 10 live weekly labs are on either Thursday night from 6-7 pm or on Saturday morning from 9-10 am (PST) - your choice. The labs are identical in content.
All 10 weekly live Zoom teaching calls will be recorded and can be watched at your convenience on our website. Labs will not be recorded to protect confidentiality but make up labs will be offered.
You must watch all 10 teaching Zoom sessions and attend 10 labs which are offered on either Thursday night or Saturday morning each week. You must complete all homework assignments each week. Note: There will be make up labs available at the end of the course for those who need it.
Yes, once you are certified, you will continue to have opportunities to learn from Dr. Dave and be part of an ongoing online grief support community called "Compassionate Hearts."
